Introducing

Moringa oil, derived from the seeds of the ‘Miracle Tree’, is packed with potent compounds that are very beneficial for skincare and hair care. Continue reading to learn more about this versatile natural remedy.

What is moringa oil?

The Moringa tree - botanically known as Moringa oleifera - is a deciduous tree with beautiful foliage, native to India and surroundings. Often called the 'Miracle Tree' or 'Tree of Life', moringa boasts immense nutritional and medicinal value. It grows in (semi)arid, tropical and subtropical areas and can withstand drought and high temperatures. The moringa tree grows rapidly and provides a wealth of edible and nutritious plant parts - from its leaves to the seed pods. It's a powerhouse of minerals, vitamins, proteins, fatty acids, antioxidants and more. Moringa oil - also known as ‘ben oil’ - is extracted from the seeds of this remarkable tree by cold-pressing, retaining all of the nutrients. The oil has an earthy-nutty smell and a rich, thick texture.

What are the benefits of moringa oil?

From revitalizing your skin to nourishing your hair, organic moringa oil holds countless benefits: it is praised for its moisturizing, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory and healing properties.

When applied to skin and hair, the fatty acids in moringa oil seal in moisture and protect from environmental factors. It also softens skin and smoothes, reducing the appearance of fine lines. Keeping your skin hydrated is key to skin elasticity and anti-aging in itself, and the vitamin A in moringa oil further contributes to rejuvenating the skin. Moringa oil also soothes sensitive and distressed skin. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds such as vitamin E, vitamin C, sterols and quercetin. Moringa oil is also recommended for healing chapped hands and feet.

Even though moringa oil is nutrient-dense and has a full texture, it is still well-absorbed by the skin. So soon after applying you’ll have soft and dewy skin!

How to use moringa oil?

Use this great all-round hair and skincare oil from the top of your head to your toes!

Moringa oil can solidify below 20 degrees. This does not affect the quality. You can make the oil liquid again by placing the bottle on the heater or in a bowl of warm water.

Moringa oil for skincare

Moringa oil is a full and nutrient-dense skincare oil, perfect for nourishing your skin overnight. Simply apply a few drops to clean skin and massage gently onto your face or body. Alternatively, add a drop to your day or night cream. Hands or legs feeling dry and chapped? Apply generously.

Moringa oil for hair care

Warm a drop between your hands and apply to the ends of your damp or dry hair to manage split ends. As a conditioning hair treatment, moisten your hair and massage a few drops into your hair and/or scalp +- 30 min before washing your hair.

Moringa oil as a cleanser

Use moringa oil as a natural makeup remover or facial cleanser. Massage a few drops onto your face and leave on for +- 1 min, then wipe off with a moist towel or cotton pad.

Moringa oil as a carrier oil

Mix moringa oil with your preferred essential oils to create personalized skincare or aromatherapy blends. 0.5% to 1% is a general guideline for dilution, but we recommend looking up the best ratio for your specific essential oil.

Other uses of moringa oil

You can also use moringa oil as a potent conditioner for your lips, nails and facial hair.

Is moringa oil suitable for each skin type?

Moringa oil is very gentle and non-irritating and can be a good choice for all skin types. However, due to its rich consistency, it is most beneficial for dry, sensitive and mature skin in need of intense nourishment.
